I had the privilege of working with Larry at what was formerly called the Wayside Honor Farm in Castaic, Ca. Larry was a shift sergeant at the jail when our paths crossed. Larry was one of the most authentic supervisors I worked with. Nothing ever rattled Larry and he always was in command of emotions as he calmly evaluated the task at hand and charted a sound and reasonable response regardless if it was something routine or emergent in nature. Larry was an excellent leader mentoring young men and women as they began their careers. Larry displayed a warm and inviting nature. His wonderful sense of humor was appreciated by everyone on the department. He will be remembered by those whose hearts he has touched!!

  2. I worked with Larry at Santa Clarita Station and again at the ranch. I have GREAT MEMORIES of the time we spent together. My husband, Charlie (passed away in 2015) Jim Brent, Larry and I would our bicycles all over Valencia and Castaic. Larry was a pleasure to work with and a good friend. We went on a cruise to Mexico with a group from the station and such fun it was. Larry was funny and he kept us laughing and I know he will be missed by many family and friends.

  4. I worked with Larry at Altadena Station in the mid 70s. He was a great guy and fun to be around. He was the kind of guy you wanted as a friend and a partner. Rest in peace Larry,

I met Larry in 1982 working Patrol at SCV Station we soon became fast friends and over the next forty years we shared many adventures. Larry was a mentor to many, a great friend, a loving husband and father. Larry left us to soon and I will never forget the times we shared but I always will remember this quote and how it applies to Larry

“The bond between friends cannot be broken by chance; no interval of time or space can destroy it. Not even death itself can part true friends.”

    RIP My Friend
