Obituary
Kristopher Richard Kent joined his older brother and mother in heaven on Thursday, June 18th. He was born in Phoenix, Arizona on March 7, 1983 to parents, Susan and Rod Kent. Kris graduated from Buckeye Union High School and then attended the University of Arizona. After college Kris managed several urgent care locations in the Phoenix area. In 2013, he was proud to join the Phoenix Fire Department as a paramedic/firefighter. He also taught CPR classes for a American Emergency Response training company.
Kris was preceded in death by his mom, Susan and his older brother, Ryan. He is survived by dad Rod Kent (Lucy) and stepsisters Andrea Velasquez and Julie McGuire (Chuck). He leaves behind many friends and family that love him very much. He also leaves his other love, his 69 Camaro – a love of classic cars and hot rods like Pops (Rod) behind. Kris’ warm heart, laughter and endless generosity will remain forever in our hearts.
There will be a celebration of Kris’ life held at a later date.

The death of a child at any age is the greatest fear of all parents. Parents should not have to bury their
children. Kris left us way too soon. Its left Rod with so much heartache . Losing both Ryan and Kris so close
together and at such a young age has left him broken. His boys were not just sons but also his best friends. He tells
me there are so many things left undone, things they had planned and they wanted to do.
Someone we Love has gone away and life is not the same. To those who loved them and all their friends:
The greatest gift that you can give Is just to speak their name. Rod needs to hear stories and tales gone
past. When you speak of them it’s music to his ears.
I wanted to thank friends that met Tuesday at Brothers Pizza to remember Kris

I am so sorry to read of Kris’s passing to Heaven. I was his kindergarten teacher at Trinity School in the late 1980’s. It was our first year of having kindergarten and I only had six students. But I will never forget Kris! He actually had a “light bulb moment”. Allof a sudden on a January morning, he understood how to decipher a word–phonics at work! His face truly did light up when he got the concept. It was a wonderful moment for him and for me. He was a great little boy. I saw him again by chance at Buckeye High one weekend, many years later. It was so great seeing this wonderful young man again. Peace be to all of you. Another story from kindergarten–Kris was so much bigger than the other five students, that my husband made wooden blocks for the legs of his Fisher-Price desk to fit into, so that his desk was raised to a comfortable height for him.
