Kristopher Richard Kent

Passed: June 24, 2020

Kristopher Richard Kent joined his older brother and mother in heaven on Thursday, June 18th. He was born in Phoenix, Arizona on March 7, 1983 to parents, Susan and Rod Kent. Kris graduated from Buckeye Union High School and then attended the University of Arizona. After college Kris managed several urgent care locations in the Phoenix area. In 2013, he was proud to join the Phoenix Fire Department as a paramedic/firefighter. He also taught CPR classes for a American Emergency Response training company.

Kris was preceded in death by his mom, Susan and his older brother, Ryan. He is survived by dad Rod Kent (Lucy) and stepsisters Andrea Velasquez and Julie McGuire (Chuck). He leaves behind many friends and family that love him very much. He also leaves his other love, his 69 Camaro – a love of classic cars and hot rods like Pops (Rod) behind. Kris’ warm heart, laughter and endless generosity will remain forever in our hearts.

There will be a celebration of Kris’ life held at a later date.

I worked with Kris at Advantage Urgent Care in Glendale,AZ. I will never forget the day he walked in and dropped off his application. At that time I was working front desk and I took his application to the back office and said “you have to hire this guy he’s so good looking” and a couple weeks later he was hired. We worked together for about 6 years. I always had the upmost respect for Kris and we had the funnest times working together at AUC.

On June 25th 2020 I had the craziest dream of Kris and I, I just remembered hugging him so tight I woke up the next moring wanting to reach out to him for some reason, granite I haven’t seen or talked to him in years…I don’t have social media so I googled him. The first thing that came up when I googled him was this obituary. I was heartbroken to learn this: I know that we had some kind of connection when we worked together but thought it was so crazy that I would have a vivid dream about him years later and then find out he passed away exactly a week before.

Kris was such a respectful, kind hearted angel. I’ll never understand why that would happen to such a great man. God bless him and everyone that knew him!

  2. Dear Rod,
My heart aches for you after learning of Susan’s & Ryan’s passing & then Kristopher’s. I’ve kept a special place in my heart & memory for Richard & his family. I learned of your tragic losses through internet searches. No parent should have to bury one child, let alone two. From what I have learned from internet searches, you raised two successful & happy young men who were highly regarded & well-loved professionally & personally. Sending you many prayers & much love.

  3. Just finding out that Kristophers passing as well as Ryan’s is heartbreaking . The last time I saw both boys was at my wedding out in Arizona with my cousin Susan . Both boys were young children but so well behaved . I remember how the boys talked of their Dad and all the cool cars he had and how they loved him !! Say Hi to Susan and your Uncle Richard , your grandpa and Grandmother Erwin & Martha and your loving brother Ryan ! I wish I could have gotten to know you better Kris !!! Rest easy and we love you both . Your cousins from Connecticut Bob , Byron and Sandy Treado

Just had a memory of Kris today and I know Rod enjoys hearing stories about K & R- I heard the song Ruca, then wondered how many of us on this guestbook were once his Ruca? It’s knowing that he’s not forgotten, I’m sure. Mr. Rod, he’s not forgotten.
