Obituary
George O. Hughes, 82 of Goodyear, Arizona died July 20, 2020 in Goodyear, Arizona. He was born October 13, 1937, to George O. Hughes and Arlene Hughes in Collingswood, New Jersey.
George worked as a Systems Technician for AT&T, until he retired in 1986. He was also a member of the Stratford and Laurel Springs Police Department, the Laurel Springs School board and city council. George attended the Peninsula Community Church in Selbyville, Delaware and managed Cedar Shores Condos in Delaware for many years. He was also an avid softball player and car enthusiast.
He is survived by his wife Ruth Elaine Hughes, his daughters Doreeen Salmonsen and Diana Braun, his sons George Mitchel Hughes, Mark Hughes and David Hughes, his sister Jeanne Fallon, 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at a later date to be announced.
The family suggests that if any donations would like to be made, to do so in George’s name to the charities of your choice.

Oh Cousin George, we are saddened by your passing. Although its been years since we talked when you attended my Dad’s birthday party in Orlando….it seems like just yesterday. Your smile and joy will stay with us forever.
