Obituary
William “Bill” Isabell age 70 of Gilbert, Arizona went to be with our Lord on December 9, 2021 in Goodyear, Arizona. He was born November 16, 1951 in Lakewood, Ohio to Joseph and Lois Isabell. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He loved the outdoors, especially being in the mountains with his family. Bill will always be remembered for the love he had for his family and friends and for his generous heart. He is loved and will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 40 years, Veleda Isabell; Son, Ryan Isabell; Daughter, Katherine Lindner and husband Joseph; Grandsons, Logan, Caleb, Elias, and Liam Lindner; Brothers, Damien Isabell, Dennis Isabell, and Robert Isabell; Sisters, Judith Pesta, Patricia Mannas, Barbara Grant, and Kathleen Ursetti. He is preceded in death by his father, Joseph Isabell, mother, Lois Isabell, and brother, Ronald Isabell. We will always love you. Forever miss you, and never forget you.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, January 8 at 9AM at Thompson Funeral Chapel, with the Graveside Service at Sunland Memorial Park at 11:45.

Miss you already, Bill. You were like a second dad to me growing up and through my teenage years. You were kind and generous, letting me tag along to the Strawberry cabin during the summer and even on family reunions to Michigan and Ohio. You were funny and never failed to make me and Katie laugh.
One lesson you taught me that I’ve always carried forward was to not discount something before trying it. We were up north at a lake (Pine Knoll, I think), and Veleda was getting the cold cuts out to make sandwiches at a picnic table. You pulled out the goose liver and started snacking on it. You offered me some, and I said, “ew gross, no way.” You responded with, “have you ever had it?” And I said I hadn’t. Then you asked, “well how can you say you don’t like it if you’ve never tried it?” You had me there. I couldn’t argue that, so I thought, what the heck? I gave it a try and it was, in fact, gross. But that lesson is one I’ve carried through the past 20+ years. Not just with food, but many experiences. I’ve tried things I ended up not liking, but I’ve also gained so many experiences that I may not have had had I not heard your voice in my head pressing, “how can you say you don’t like it if you’ve never tried it?”
Thank you for your guiding spirit. You were loved by so many more people than your family. I’ll do my best to be a support for Katie and everyone as they navigate through the unimaginable grief of losing you. I know you’ll continue to look out for them, too.
