Obituary

Mr. Tarry Lee Groves, age 71, of Goodyear, Arizona passed away on September 2, 2020 in Glendale, Arizona. He was born on March 4, 1949 to Vernon Groves and Shirley Reed in Johnson City, Illinois.

Tarry served in the United States Air Force from November of 1976 to August of 1991 and was discharged from service with the rank of Master Sergeant and title of Munitions system super intendent. He was very proud of his current employer and second family which was Walmart, he worked for them since July 1991 and they helped him and his family through a lot. His biggest accomplishment in his life was his beautiful family. He worked hard and provided for them and always made sure that they had the best life.

He is survived by his wife, Yvette Groves; his daughters, Carry Moreno (Aaron Moreno), Rosanne Hatch (Jason Hatch), Crystal Groves, and Amanda Silvius; his sisters, Wendy Johnson, and Dixie Wilson; his mother, Shirley McElhaney, and he is also survived by his seven grandchildren. Tarry is preceded in death by his father, Vernon Groves.

    My prayers to Yvette and your family. Tarry was a great person. He always was there to listen. Remember the times he would sit in McDonald’s and drink his coffee. He will be missed.

    I knew Tarry when I worked for Walmart in 2013. He was always there for me and made me feel a part of the Walmart family. I have since left the company and am sad for the team because Tarry was an amazing mentor and friend. Miss you Tarry.

  3. He had been nothing but nice to me. It saddens me he is no longer here. Ill miss our run ins at Walmart. You will be missed Tarry. Keeping your family in my thoughts.
