Sybil Davis

Obituary

Ms. Sybil K. Davis, 75, of Sierra Vista, Arizona died March 30, 2022 in Goodyear, Arizona. She was born August 31, 1946 in Bellevue, Michigan to Morris H. King and Edith M. King.
Sybil was a loving mother and grandmother. She especially adored all of her grandchildren. Her home was a “Mecca” for all souls. Anybody was welcome at her table, and there were no taboo topics. Some say her home was the center of happy chaos, but to most her home was a place of caring and love.
Sybil enjoyed spending time with her family. She loved to go camping, have family game night, and spending holidays (especially Christmas and Halloween) with them. Her caregiving nature was not limited to her friends and family. Sybil also spent much of her time working with animal rescue groups. She was “mom” to several animals through the years. And, though she couldn’t have them as pets, Sybil adored Black Bears and Tigers. When she wasn’t spending time with her family, Sybil could be found playing at the slot machines and attending arts and craft fairs. She also really loved dressing up for and attending the Renaissance Festival. Sybil had one vice: manicures. Her nails were always immaculate.
But there was another side to Sybil; a feisty and adventurist side. She was up for any adventure, anytime. She even rode motorcycles while she was pregnant. She loved to laugh and had a sharp wit, and some might say she was stubborn. But those who knew her, knew she was just standing up for what she believed.
Her loss leaves a gaping hole in the lives that she touched. She will be missed by family, friends, and the animal rescue community.
Sybil is survived by her daughter, Kaylee Bunnell; son, Shawn (Cynthia) Davis; and step-daughter Brenda Bezayiff. She is also survived by seven grandchildren; Joseph (Danielle) Davis, Dakota (Klara) Davis, Colton Davis, Travis Arpan, Braxton Arpan, Aiden Arpan, and Evan Bunell along with one expected great-grandchild.
Funerals services will be held at 1pm, April 18 at Thompson Funeral Chapel.

  1. Kaylee and family, my deepest sympathy and prayers for the lose of Mom go out to you in this difficult time. I feel I can use the word mom instead of Sybil even though I had met her only once because she made you feel like you were old friends picking up where you left off. That time was one of the most enjoyable times me and my wife Susan have had and will cherish that memory long into the future. Having known Kaylee for 8 years and have gotten to know her fairly well I can see the apple did not fall far from the tree so I guess I had a little inside knowledge on what mom would be like on that first introduction. All of us enjoyed a wonderful evening that night listening to her stories and experiences as only a seasoned veteran of life can do, .
God bless you Sybil for brightening our lives.

  5. Dear Kaylee and Shawn
Deepest sympathy in the loss of your mom. We tried many times to contact her when we were in AZ. We always had good times together. She took such good care of your grandma and overcame serious physical problems. Love and prayers to you and the family.
