Obituary

Susan Reiko Warren (Cook), 63, of Goodyear, Arizona went home to be with the Lord on May 23, 2022 following a short illness.

Born June 23, 1958 in Middletown, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Roger and Naoko Tanaka Warren.

She graduated from Middletown High School in 1976.

Ms. Warren worked for Camelot Music for 24 years and for the Federal Government for 20 years. She loved to travel, and had a love for music and attending concerts and meeting the musicians; she loved the Mountaineers and Ohio State football teams and enjoyed watching the games. She had shown dogs for several years.

Susan’s family meant the world to her and so did her beloved dogs Toby and Foxy.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandparents George and Iva Warren and Kyusaki and Sen Inoue Tanaka.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Michael D. Cook II and wife Courtney of Lester, WV and daughter Stephanie Cook and life partner Sam Johnson of Beckley, WV. Grandchildren London, Legend, and Memphis Cook; sister Deborah Warren Sheets of Ohio, and brother Robert (Felicia) of California and several nieces and nephews. Also surviving is her former husband and friend Dave Cook and former mother-in-law Jean Cook both of Beckley WV.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a local animal shelter or food pantry in her memory.

Until we meet again

God saw you were getting tired
when a cure was not to be,
so He put His arms around you
and whispered, “Come to me.”

You didn’t deserve what you went through
and so He gave you rest.
God’s garden must be beautiful,
He only takes the best.

And when we saw you sleeping
so peaceful and free from pain,
we knew you were in God’s kingdom,
never to hurt again.
