Obituary

Ryan Douglas Lawry, 32, of Goodyear, Arizona died on January 14, 2022 in Goodyear, Arizona. He was born April 27, 1989 at Luke Airforce Base in Glendale, Arizona to Mark and Andrea Lawry.

Ryan was a born-again Christian who loved the Lord and loved life. He was raised going to church. He loved his four children, Marc, Abraham, Allyson-Rae, and Elijah. He loved spending time with them, taking them to the park weekly, as they loved to play outside. Ryan took his children to church as often as he could in hopes that one day, they too would come to know the Lord as their personal Savior.

Ryan was a family man who enjoyed getting together with as much family as he could and as often as he could. It didn’t matter if it was playing pinochle with his girlfriend Brittny against his parents or against one of his brothers and their wives. He especially loved going to his oldest brother Terry’s house and taking his kids to go swimming in the pool. He wanted his kids to know all of his family, to have memories they would never forget and to know they were loved.

As a young teen he was active in Junior Church, was a camp counselor, and memorized Bible verses for AWANA (Approved Workman Are Never Ashamed) from the age of three to the age of eighteen. Ryan earned his AWANA Citation Award which is a great honor to receive. He became a leader for AWANA helping other young kids memorize Bible verses, to come to know the Lord as their personal Savior, and to mentor them. He did a lot of service working with children, Tutor Time with grade school kids to help them with their reading, Rent a Teen with seniors to earn money for camps, for AWANA Summit trips to compete against teens from all over the USA in Bible Quizzing, games, and fine arts. He also worked in the kitchen serving church lunches. Ryan loved to cook and grill. He would call his mom often asking for recipes he grew up with as he wanted to make them for his family.

Ryan graduated from La Joya High School in Avondale, Arizona. He participated in sports all through high school; he played golf, soccer, baseball, tennis, and also enjoyed volleyball. He had a way to make everyone laugh and feel comfortable.

After graduating Ryan worked for thirteen years with Papa John’s Pizza and even became a GM manager of several stores. Later he worked for Fry’s Food and Drug Stores, having the pleasure of working with for about a year at the same store with his mom. She loved having him at the same store! Even his girlfriend Brittny got to work there for a bit with him. He needed to have weekends off to spend quality time with his children and went to work with his brother David at Interior Logic as a NAV

Specialist. He worked in the warehouse and was looking to be promoted. He received praise for making great strides in how the warehouse functioned. His manger there, and owners from Papa John’s, were very good to Ryan when he got sick and went into the hospital and even helped financially. We thank Ryan’s boss for being so kind to him.

Those that know Ryan know his kids came first before himself. He took care of them and others before himself. He was the kind of friend who would drop everything to help one of his friends in need. He was a very social person, who loved life, who knew many people in his short time on Earth and will be missed by many. Know that he will be looking forward to seeing everyone as he is in Heaven with a new body, with no more pain, or sickness. We shall see him again when it is our turn to join him.

Do not sorrow for Ryan, he is with his Heavenly Father. Pray for those left behind as we mourn his life here on Earth. Pray for those who do not know the Lord as their personal Savior. Ryan will rejoice to see us again. He is up there with his Nana Bitsy, Uncle Kenny and several uncles, grandparents and family.

Ryan is survived by his, daughter, Allyson-Rae Kathleen Lawry, sons, Marc Daniel Lawry, Abraham Joseph Lawry, and Elijah David Lawry, sister, Jacqueline Nicole Lawry, brothers, Terry Daniel Lawry and David Paul Lawry, parents, Mark and Andrea Lynne Lawry, papa, Ernest Glen Tarr, five nieces, two nephews, and several aunts and uncles, and girlfriend, Brittny DelPozzo, ex-wife and mother of his kids, Danielle Elaine Lawry. He was preceded in death by his uncle, Kenneth Wayne Tarr, nana, Leona Myrle Tarr, Gram, Lois Jean Lawry, and Pap, John William Lawry Sr.

A celebration of life will be held from 1pm to 2pm on Friday, January 28, 2022 at Sahuaro Ranch Park (9802 59th Ave. Glendale, AZ 85302).

  1. First I want to praise the Lord, as I know you are safely in Heaven wrapped in His arms, as he welcomed you to your permanent home. I hope you told your Nana, uncle Kenny, and other family up there with you I said hello.
I miss you Ryan so much it hurts. You were taken from us way too soon. I know I’m being selfish wanting you here with us, but I know you are in a much better place now.
Things in life always seemed to be hard, and seemed often you could not catch a break in life. Through it all you remained positive, upbeat saying momma I will be ok.
You always put your kids, and everyone else above your own needs. I loved that about you. I will miss your smile, our weekly visits, daily chats, or text, working at Fry’s with you, playing cards, or just hanging out at family get together’s, most of which were are Terry and Janet’s house.
Your insane competitive side you had to always win at cards, corn-hole, bowling, and really any sport or games you played. You were happy most of the time no matter what. You deserved so much more, and better out of life on earth.
Your kiddos will miss you so much, and I promise to help them remember you always, to know they are loved, and will be taken care of.
I love you so much, and you will be forever in my heart!
Till the day we shall meet up in Heaven with the Lord Jesus Christ. I can’t wait to see you again.
    Love Momma

  4. What do I say to the man who gave me four beautiful children. Although life took us in opposite directions we made the best of it for our kiddos. I will never stop singing them to bed for you. I will tell them all the stories of our youth together and so on. I will remind the kids how much they remind me of you and how much you loved them.

Ryan you are so very missed by everyone. I know you are in a better place but you are so very much missed down here. We love you so much.
