Born to Phillip and Miriam McClanahan on April 2, 1935 in Salina, Kansas.

Bob moved to Albany, Oregon at the age of 2, where he would meet and marry Eleanor Chilcote. Bob and Eleanor moved to the Phoenix metro area in 1967, where he worked for the airlines for over 20 years, raised the family and lived for the remainder of his life.

In his later retirement years, Bob relaxed and enjoyed riding his tractor to feed the cows and chickens with the help of his grandchildren. He would also go camping, hiking and hunting with his grandchildren. Bob also enjoyed a friendly game of Cribbage.

Bob had the ability to fix anything that was broken and would work on many different things from machinery, wood and cars, he loved working on Volkswagen Beetles especially.

Survived by his loving wife Eleanor of 65 happy and wonderful years, 2 children – Denice and Julaine, 7 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild, 4 brothers and 3 sisters.

In addition to family, Bob will be missed by innumerable friends that he made as he served the lord.

Psalm 1

Blessed is the man who does not walk

In the counsel of the wicked

Or stand in the seat of mockers

But his delight is in the law of the Lord

And on his law he mediates day and night

He is like a tree planted by streams of water,

Which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not whither.

Whatever he does prospers.

  4. Bob, this world lost a true man of integrity. They don’t make them like you anymore! Your passion for living for God, your integrity in loving, serving and investing into others, your unconditional sweet love and joy in being married to your best friend, your sense of humor in the most random conversations, your smile, your the ultimate mans man, from fixing anything, to building cars, to sitting down in your lazy man and having deep convos, your ability to understand when it’s time to work, when it’s time to play, when it’s time to rest, and oh, can’t forget your consistency in discipline! Ha! You know how to grow them! My family is very blessed to have known you, to be blessed and invested in by you and Eleanor, so thank you from the bottom of our hearts for leaving us a true example of what a man of God looks like! You are 1 of a kind and we’re all so very honored to have had the privilege to experience this life with you in it! All our love, prayers and God’s comfort to your sweet wife, family and close friends.
