Obituary
Richard Doyle Newland, age 76 passed away July 4, 2018 at Hospice of the Valley in Surprise, AZ with his beloved wife and soul mate by his side and their granddaughter Amber. Originally from Texas he has lived in Goodyear, AZ since 2010. He loved the outdoors and being with his family. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club of Graham. He owned and operated auto repair shops most of his life.
Richard is survived by his wife of 40+ years, Mary Newland of the home; sons, Neil Eugene Newland (Lori) of Katy, TX, Christopher Wade Patterson (Penny) of Eliasville, TX, Rodney Allan Patterson of Wylie, TX and Richard Doyle Newland, II (Lindsay) of Kaufman, TX; daughter, Laurie Newland Kinder of Irving, TX; brother, Robert Newland (Sue) of Katy, TX; sisters-in-law, Janie Lewellyn of London, AR, Pat Johnson of Jonesboro, AR; and brother-in-law P. F. Johnson, Jr. of Jonesboro, AR. He was blessed with nine grandchildren, Christopher and Chelsea Kinder, Cameron and Morgan Patterson, Amber and Rodney, Jr. Patterson, Caleb, Nolan and Scarlett Newland; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Neal and Ethel Newland, originally from Forrest, TX; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, P. F. and Lorene Johnson, originally from Dallas, TX; and numerous aunts, uncles, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
In lieu of flowers that family requests any donations to be made to your favorite charity or Hospice of the Valley, 9435 W. Peoria Ave., Peoria, AZ 85345. Services will be scheduled at a later date.
