Obituary

Mildred (Meyers Hardy) Christopher passed away peacefully on March 4th, 2023,in Avondale, AZ. She was born in Saskatchewan, Canada on July 20th, 1927, the daughter of Sigrid Birch and John Meyers.

Sigrid’s family was from Norway and John’s was from Switzerland. Mildred grew up on their prairie farm and moved to British Columbia as a teenager. She graduated from Queen Elizabeth High School in Surrey, BC in 1946. She met Glenn Hardy and the two married on November 8th, 1947. They lived in Magnolia, a neighborhood of Seattle, WA. Glenn passed away in 1959. Mildred married Charles Christopher in 1964. Charles passed away in 2011. Mildred continued to live at the Magnolia home, until she moved to Ballard (Seattle), then Arizona in 2019. Mildred loved family, gardening, playing card and board games, walking, reading, dogs, birds, and all animals. She was a wonderful woman and mother, and she will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her four children: Victor and Sharon Hardy, Norman and Paula Hardy, Debra Hardy, and David and Kim Hardy, as well as her sister Ruth Gorgas and numerous grand and great grandchildren.
