Obituary

Mrs. Mary Louise Reynolds Fulks, 91 of Goodyear, Arizona died November 18, 2021 in Phoenix, Arizona. She was born October 5, 1930 in Los Angeles, California to William Jess Reynolds and Mabel Molly Losk.
She was predeceased by her husband Thomas Glover Fulks; son Mark Thomas Fulks; sisters Lois and Virginia; and brothers Robert, William, and Richard. Mary is survived by her daughter Brenda Sue (Brian) Ramey; sons Philip James (Ellen) Fulks, Timothy Lee (Shelley) Fulks; and brother Raymond Lee Reynolds. She is also survived by eight grandchildren: Joseph, Brent, Aaron, Julie, Nicole, Ashley, Lindsey, and Brittani; and sixteen great-grandchildren.
Mary’s family moved from Los Angeles, California to Buckeye, Arizona when she was a child. She attended Buckeye schools and graduated from Buckeye Union High School in 1949. While in high school, her friends would call her “mouse” because she was so tiny. In 1950, she married Thomas G. Fulks and started her family. After raising her family, Mary began her career as a Quality Control Inspector for Motorola, where she ultimately retired.
She was an active volunteer at Maryvale Hospital for more than 10 years; working the front desk and gift shop. Mary provided more than 2500 hours of service at the Abrazo West Campus (formerly West Valley Hospital) working at the registration desk and as a Surgery Hostess. Since 1950 she was an active member of the Avondale Baptist Church (formerly 1st Southern Baptist Church) since 1950. At her church she taught Sunday school, served the Mission of Mercy and helped in the accounting department when needed for tithes and offerings. Mary had the sweetest, kindest spirit and would stop to talk to any little child she met. She will be terribly missed by all who knew her.

A funeral service will be held 10am December 1, 2021 at Avondale Baptist Church.

  1. Our family grieves with you in the loss of not just a wonderful lady, but a Godly woman. She was a wonderful Christian woman who not only talked the talk, but walked the talk by how she lived her life each and every day. She and Ms. Tyler made a wonderful team teaching the 5-year-old Sunday School class at First Southern Baptist Church, now Avondale Baptist Church. She had a Christ like compassion foe she met, which was exemplified in her work at the hospital. The patients and the family that she worked with couldn’t have been in more Godly hands Diane and I will miss giving her Sunday morning hug in the church parking lot.

Brenda, Philip and Tim, our family was blessed knowing your mother and father and you all and praise the Lord for this. We are here for you!

    God Bless.

    Henry, Diane and Virginia Fergus`
