Obituary

Martin Arturo Nuñez, Sr., age 50 of Tonopah, AZ died December 17, 2019. He was born September 11, 1969, in Sonoyta, Mexico to Diego Labandera and Maria Del Carmen Bustamante. He grew up in Gila Bend, AZ and graduated from Gila Bend High School. Martin worked for 16 years as the floor manager in logistics and distribution for the WalMart Distribution Center in Buckeye, AZ. He was a hard worker and became a mentor to many of his coworkers. He was friendly, easy to talk to, and liked by everyone who knew him.

With the exception of dreaming about retiring in Mexico, Martin lived in the moment. He was fond of Rocky Point, Mexico and loved to visit. He was passionate about Rams football and Dodger baseball. He enjoyed making carne asada, singing karaoke and dancing. He liked playing horseshoes and pool. He loved his toys! Corvettes, quads, motorcycles, Ski-Doo’s, all provided hours of great adventure and enjoyment! He especially loved being with his family and playing with his grandchildren.

Martin is survived by his wife of 18 years, Alma Cristina Nuñez; daughter, Marissa Nuñez; son, Martin Nuñez, Jr.; mother, Maria Del Carmen Bustamante; sisters, LisElaine Luna and Mirza Jaquez; brothers, Daniel Nuñez, and Steven Nuñez; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Diego Labandera and Jose Fermin Nuñez.
