Obituary

Luenette Florence (Bieber) Olin, age 73 of Goodyear, AZ passed away peacefully on Saturday February 10, 2024. She was born on April 18, 1950 to John and Florence (Oestreich) Bieber in Bismarck, North Dakota. Luenette is survived by her daughters Melissa (Shayne) Taylor and Melinda Olin, grandkids Hayden and Haley, brothers Paul Bieber and Howard Bieber, stepfather John Renner and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father John Bieber and mother Florence (Bieber) Renner.

Luenette was raised in Center North Dakota where she graduated from Center High School in 1968. She earned her Associates Degree from Bismarck Junior College and worked for the Center School District as an Intermedial Math teacher and then as a custodian. She enjoyed filling in as secretary when needed. However, her last and most important job started in 2001 when she moved to Arizona to take care of Hayden and shortly thereafter Haley her two grandkids. She soon became a grandma to many of Hayden and Haley’s friends. Luenette was a kind-hearted and fantastic mom, friend, and loving grandma. Known as an outstanding cook, her fleischkuechle, sloppy joes, cornflake potatoes, and scotcharoo bars were loved by all. She enjoyed shopping, traveling, playing Bunco, Downforce, and watching Hallmark movies. She loved attending Hayden’s sporting events and watching Haley at Dance competitions. She would try any game or activity for the grandkids including: Top Golf, escape rooms, and playing Nintendo Switch…just to name a few. She loved adventuring on road trips with Melinda to visit friends and family in Nevada, Arkansas, and Texas.

A gathering and slideshow will be held at Thompson Funeral Chapel at 926 South Litchfield Park, Goodyear, AZ on Tuesday February 27 from 9:00 AM to 1 PM. Memorial services begin at 11:00 AM MST.
