Obituary

Lewis Price Weaver of Waddell, Arizona, passed away on March 20, 2021 after a short illness. He was 77 years young, full of energy and a had a zeal for life. His warm heart and big smile will be missed by all who knew him. He was born on November 2, 1943 in Wagontown, PA. and grew up in a family of 2 bothers, 1 sister and 2 half-brothers. He grew up in the Mennonite community and carried the values of community, helping others and stewardship throughout his life. He was an outgoing person and those who knew him felt the sincerity and generosity that he embraced every day. Lewis P, as he was known to many, had the ability to make you feel like you were the only thing that mattered at any moment; No person or job was too big or too small.

He was married to Stephani Weaver for 40 years. They built their small ranch on 4 acres in the west Phoenix Valley and later built a summer cabin in Happy Jack, AZ. He held many jobs, including sales, construction, and property management. He was driven by the entrepreneurial spirit of the west.

His son Keith was a source of pride and enjoyment. Most recently, both were involved in a real estate and property management business. They grew the business on the values of service and commitment.

Lewis P’s favorite past times included horseback riding, building, spending quality time at the “cabin” with Stephani and watching his son play music at the local establishments.

He gave back to his community wherever he lived. He served in the Army National Guard, Maricopa Sheriff’s Posse, and other local service groups in the Valley.

He will be missed but will live on in our hearts and minds. Everyone who knew him was touched by his presence. He is survived by his wife Stephani, his son Keith and many caring relatives back in PA, whose stories he shared upon return to AZ from his summer visits to PA.

A memorial service will be held on April 24, 2021, from 8 to 11am., at the Thompson’s Funeral Chapel in Goodyear, AZ. There will be a celebration of life to follow at Keith and Deanna Weaver’s home from 1 to 6pm in Litchfield Park.

  5. I am very thankful to have known Lew as a family friend, neighbor, good conversation and genuine heart for the first 31 years of my life. His random pop in visits to our office, his bright look on life, his bad jokes and good advice will all be sincerely missed, but most certainly not forgotten!
