Obituary

Klayson Auna Barlow, age 31 of Surprise, Arizona died February 18, 2020, in Phoenix, Arizona. He was born February 17, 1989, in Savannah, Georgia, the youngest of three sons born to Gregory and Vyan (Auna) Barlow. As a young boy, he lived in Arlington, Texas where he earned a black belt in Tae Kwon Do at the age of eight.   His family moved to Peoria, Arizona in 1997 and he attended schools there through his junior year at Sunrise Mountain High School. He enjoyed scouting and was proud to have earned his Eagle Scout Rank.   As an athlete, he enjoyed a variety of sports. He enjoyed playing tennis and volleyball in high school. As an accomplished volleyball player, he moved to the east side of the valley to play on a more competitive team and graduated from Highland High School. He attended Glendale Community College for a year, then went on to work in a variety of jobs.

Klayson loved to laugh and have fun. He enjoyed camping, riding dirt bikes, and paintballing with his dad and brothers. He loved to fly and was a licensed pilot in both airplanes and helicopters. He was very patriotic and proud of the military and law enforcement service of his grandfathers, father, brothers, and extended family.

Klayson was a father and an uncle. He became a father in 2014. His time with Michael was short as Klayson relocated to Arizona. He spoke often of his love for his son and his desire to be a role model in his life. As an uncle, Klayson cherished his relationships with his five beautiful nieces, Juna, Kali, Abigail, Nami, and Reese.

Klayson had a BIG heart. He enjoyed serving others and freely shared his light with those around him. As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, he found strength in the hymns and reading the Book of Mormon. He gave away many Books of Mormon to those he met while he was in rehab. He had a testimony of Jesus Christ that he shared to help lift others who struggled as he did. He is loved deeply by his family who feels blessed to have had him in their lives.

Klayson is survived by his son, Michael Gregory Barlow Pazzi; parents, Gregory H. and Vyan K. Barlow; brothers, G. Mitchell and Logan H. Barlow; and grandparents; Hyrum W. Barlow, and Harvey L. and Eva P. Auna. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Patsy R. Hancock. A visitation will be held at 8:30 AM for family, 9:00-9:40 AM all are welcome, followed by a funeral service at 10:00 AM, Saturday, March 14, 2020, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 15880 W. Klayson was, still to this day, the record holder for the fastest completion of the private pilot helicopter certification. It was a treat teaching him. If my memory serves me right he completed the training at/around just 34 hours of helicopter flight time. Beating the school record by 2 full flight hours. His smile and positivity will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

    My deepest sympathy
It was a privilege and my pleasure to have known your son Klayson
Every time I visited him or saw him he was always smiling he was friendly and always polite .
He always tried to cheer up his peers and everyone was happy to be around him. We will miss him!

  4. I sure loved Klayson. I think I met him in about 2014. My daughter had just come back from her mission and we went hiking with Klayson in the White Tanks. It was so enjoyable to get to know him and to feel of his goodness and love. After that I enjoyed seeing him and talking to him at church and other get together. Even though I am a middle aged mom, he took the time to talk to me and show interest in my life. I will never forget his compliments on my organ playing in our church services. That is rare indeed to receive such a compliment. I will sincerely miss Klayson and pray for comfort for all family members and friends. Thank goodness we can hold on to our beautiful memories of Klayson.
