Obituary

Mr. John Loren Morningstar, 63, of Buckeye, Arizona died December 6, 2020 in Buckeye, Arizona. He was born August 9, 1957, to Albert and Naomi Morningstar in Phoenix, Arizona.  He was a beloved husband, devoted father and grandfather, cherished brother, and faithful minister of God’s word.

He served faithfully in his church, Buckeye First Assembly of God, and through his partnerships in ministry with Buckeye Outreach Ministry and ICALM ministries.  Whether he was serving his community in Buckeye, Arizona or internationally in Africa or Mynamar one message was clear—God loves you and wants to have a relationship with you.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Morningstar; daughters Carrie Martin, Christina Chadwick, and Marissa Morningstar-Lerma; sister, Esther Wax, and his 10 grandchildren-Ellen, Teara, Jason, Josiah, Shawn, Isaiah, Allison, Makenzie, Charlotte, and Iain. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Naomi Morningstar.

A private family service will be held on Monday, December 21st with a public memorial service to be held after the holidays are over.  The family suggests that donations be made to ICALM ministries in order to benefit the Edu-Care Junior School in Uganda, Kenya.  Donations can be made by going to the secure website www.ICALMonline.org or through PayPal at PayPal.me/ICALMonline with the memo “John Morningstar Uganda School”.  All donations are tax deductible and will go to help the school, that John had on his heart at the time of his passing, buy updated equipment and land in order to be able to fall into compliance with local government codes and re-open after the pandemic.

  1. God bless him and keep him close.

  2. Don Habecker says:

Please notify me of the public service for my friend John.

  3. Such a great friend, mentor, and all around nicest guy. Loved God with complete fierceness. Left this world praising God and STILL telling the devil he is defeated! What an awesome man of God. Thank you for all you’ve taught me.

  4. I love this man. I met him at a little Pentecostal church in Buckeye, AZ. It had to be close to 10 years ago. He helped me walk through and understand a lot of things I was going through at that time. He treated me like one of his own and I got to serve with him on the mission field. Which was an answered prayer of mine for years. I’m gonna miss you while we are apart but I know I will be reunited with you again.

  5. Ron says:

John Morningstar, the most non-judgmental person I ever met. May you rest in peace John and know you will always be loved and missed.
