Obituary

Mrs. JoAnn E. Gilliam, 84 of Phoenix, AZ passed away on April 19, 2016. She was born October 11, 1931 to William Cooper and Myrtle Peeters in Flint, MI.  Her natural abilities led her to pursue a variety of occupations.  She was an Evangelist and a missionary but also worked in accounting and as a cosmetologist.

JoAnn is survived by her daughter, Brenda M. Gilliam; four grandchildren, Faith A Ford, Bryana, Essence and Destiny McClain and a host of nieces and nephews.   She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Myrtle Cooper; husband, Glenn G. Gilliam; grandson, Dominique McClain; two sisters, Elizabeth Holley and Barbara Watson; and two brothers, Leo and Wilber Woodward.

A visitation will be held at 9:00 am with a funeral to follow at 10:00 am on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at Prayer Assembly Church of God in Christ, 4520 W McDowell Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85035. Burial will be at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona.
