Obituary

Jerold “Jerry” W. Clark, 89, passed away on March 11, 2024, in the comfort of his  home in Show Low, AZ surrounded by loved ones. He was born August 17, 1934 in Corning, Arkansas to the late Armol B. and Mollie (Lunsford) Clark.

He is survived by his wife Shirley, four Daughters Sherry Rich, Renee (Randy) Falkner, Mollie (Kenny) Barnes, and Gretchen (Todd) Swanson. Seven Granddaughters; Heather (Landon) Young, Brooke (Taylor) Velasquez, Lauren (Port) Heiden, Chelo Dunlap, Haven Gilker, Jenna (Jon) Haberman, and Kylie Swanson. Six Great Grandchildren Brooklyn, Breckon, Riley, Hensley, Benjamin, Hendrix. Also, two brothers, Alvan (Sharon) Clark and Joe (Mary) Clark, and his sister-in-laws Earlene Clark and Wanda Clark.

He was proceeded in death by his brothers Floyd and Clyde Clark, and sister Kathy Berry.

He was one of six children. The family moved to Allentown, IL where he graduated from Mackinaw High School. He served in the U.S. Navy on the aircraft carriers U.S.S. Wasp & U.S.S. Tarawa, from 1955 until 1959. He met and married the love of his life, Shirley Moushon, on June 10, 1961. They were happily married for 62 ½ years. They resided in Palatine, IL. where together they raised their 4 Daughters. Jerold worked for G.D. Searle labs, which later became Proctor & Gamble. In 1976 he transferred to Arizona with the company where he later retired after 36 years as a production foreman.

Jerold was a fan of traditional country music. He was a self-taught left-handed guitar player, who once had his own band. He used his talent also, to serve the Lord.  He would take his family of young daughters to the Senior Citizen Home on Sunday afternoons where they would sing with them their favorite gospel songs.

He was a quiet man who led by example and loved the Lord and his family. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather whose proudest accomplishment was his family.

A visitation for family will be held 9:00-10:00, Public viewing 10:00, Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on March 23, 2024 at Thompson Funeral Chapel, 926 S. Litchfield Rd., Goodyear, AZ.  Burial to follow at 1:00 at Holy Cross  Cemetery, 9925 W. Thomas Rd. Avondale, AZ. Please join the family following burial for a reception at Skyway Church, 14900 W. Van Buren St. Goodyear, AZ.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to Maranatha Bible Church, of Show Low AZ (building fund) in Jerold’s name.

  2. Jerry, I will miss you! you are such a kind man, I loved hearing about you family ,that you loved soo much, I feel like I know all of you. All I can say in I love and miss you Jerry you brought a lot of joy my life!
