Obituary

Jan McGee died suddenly on Tuesday, February 14th with her husband Greg by her side. She was born March 31, 1954 in  Wichita, Kansas to the late Eugene and Carmelita Hawk. She was also preceded in death by her stepfather Earl Sayler, sister Teri Hawk, brother Kim Hawk, niece Jessie Bruggeman, and nephew Josh Bruggeman.  Jan is survived by her husband Greg, stepsons Justin (Katie), Patrick (Katie), and Stuart (Erica), sisters Kit Bruggeman (Dave) and Lisa Sayler, Pam Sayler (Bill), and her brothers Mike Hawk (Linda) and Gene Hawk. She is also survived by her nieces Kitty and Katy, nephews Jake, Joel, David, Ryan, and Matt, and her twelve grandchildren Alexis, Evelyn, Imogene, Ellie, Emma, Nora, Daisy, Lke, Elijah, Jude, Esra, and Jeptha.

Jan graduated from Bishop Carroll High School in 1972 and then moved to Dallas, Texas. She worked in the finance and home-building industry until her retirement in 2016.

On June 4, 1999, Jan married Greg McGee. They moved to Goodyear, Arizona in 2018. She enjoyed spending her free time playing cards, shopping with friends, gardening, caring for dogs, golfing with Greg, and enjoying a glass of fine wine.

Jan loved all of her dog who were her ‘furbabies’ and knew that Tootsie, Raleigh, Randi, Abbey, Suzie, Barney, and Maggie were waiting for her on Heaven’s Rainbow Bridge.

Jan was proud to be an organ donor and would want everyone to consider becoming one themselves.

Jan did not want a funeral or memorial. Instead of flowers, please donate to a local food pantry or a local animal rescue group.

Lift a glass of your finest and toast farewell to Jan for a life well lived.
