Obituary

Henry “Jeff” Jefferson Bailey Jr., age 86, of Phoenix, Arizona passed away on August 23, 2020 in Phoenix, Arizona. He was born on October 18, 1933 in Hill County, Texas to Jeff Sr. and Gladys Bailey.

When Jeff was ten his family moved to Waco, Texas where he attended school. In 1951, he married Beverley Crow, they had one daughter together and the marriage ended in 1953. In 1954, he was inducted into the United States Army, after boot camp he was sent to radio school in Georgia, and then was sent to Austria. He enjoyed his time in Austria and he was able to travel and see other parts of Europe as well.

In 1955, Jeff, was sent back to th U.S. and was stationed at Ft. Devens Massachusetts, until his discharge from active service in 1956. That same year he moved to Coalinga, California. It was in Coalinga that he met Frieda Bowman, they got married in 1957 and became the parents of three children. Sadly, Frieda lost a two-year battle with cancer in 1989.

It was in 1990 that Jeff met and later married June Williams, they met at the church of which they both attended and got married in that same year. He worked for 35 years in the petroleum industry and retired in 2000 from Time Oil Co. based out of Richmond, California after 28 years of service with them.

Jeff is survived by his children, Janette Orr (Kenneth), Jeff Bailey III, James Bailey (Joanna), and Bernadette Arp( Randy); his four granddaughters, two great-grandsons, and four great-granddaughters.

    I loved Jeff as much as anyone he married my classmate Frieda Bowman and we were neighbors , my daughter would squeeze thru the fence and knock on their back door wanting “boy” to come and to play I have so many wonderful memories R I P MEMORY ETERNAL
