Obituary

Gregory Christopher Klippel passed away on December 5, 2021 in Colorado, where he and his wife Lindee retired a few months ago. Greg was born on June 29, 1947 in Pasadena, California to Gilbert Franklin Klippel and Mary LaVaughn Rose. His father was a Lt. Colonel in the Air Force, so his family moved a few times. Greg worked for Salt River Project and Arizona Public Service in Phoenix as well as on Hill Air Force base in Utah. He recently retired and was enjoying his retirement with his wife Lindee. His best days were spent riding his three-wheeled motorcycle, who he called his “baby”. He is the beloved father of six children, Sheryl (Mecom), Jim, Mike, Brandon, Sean and Jennifer (Mullenaux). Greg has 22 grandchildren and one great-grandson. He is also survived by his wife Lindee and his sister Gayle Davis. He was loved by so many. He was a friend to all. He will be sorely missed.

I didn’t know Greg very well but I do know that he and Lindee loved each other very much.
They spent their retirement days enjoying the wind and loving each other.
I’ve never seen a couple happier.

  3. I have never worked with someone, more fun, more enjoyable, more Christlike and so sweet than Mr. Greg Klippel. He was such a sweet friend at HAFB. Greg had such a good attitude, I am still waiting to have that rubbed off on me. I am so happy and honored to call him my friend. I truly believe he will be watching over all of us. My heart is broken and I do believe he is in a better place and is free from his health issues. May we all live so we can see him again. Much love to his family and his sweet wife, Lindee, who had only but a short time with him. May we all live so we all can see him AGAIN!! Love you GREG!!!

  4. Greg was a dear friend. We go back many years to about 1970 or so when my wife and I moved to Arizona. We enjoyed many ward functions together. I was scoutmaster to one of his sons, Jim and we had many great scouting experiences together. I love his family and wish them comfort and peace. I also served as the family home teacher and bishop for a few years. I cherish those memories even when the “twins” would mess up my hair! Greg will be sorely missed!

  5. Greg LaRue says:

My dear friend Greg will be missed greatly by all. I have had the privilege, of being pretty much by his side for the last 10+ years at his workplace at Hill AFB, UT. I have always had great respect for him, his work ethic, and his character. I watched the ceremony, and my respect for him only grew when I witness his children give their homage to their father. I know what they are feeling, as I too have had to say good-bye to my parents, but that is only here on earth. I loved and will miss my dear friend, Greg, but I know we will see each other again where he will tell me a joke and make me laugh. He is and always be a beautiful person. God Bless
