Obituary
George Joseph Reynolds was born on February 15, 1939 in Newport, RI to parents Joseph & Ann. After serving in the Airforce, he found his way out West and settled in Arizona. It was there that he met his wife Kay, and raised sons Kurt & Scott, and daughter Beverly.
George started a career with Western Electric in 1961, retiring from upper management from then AT&T in 1989. Leveraging his business experience, he would team up with his daughter Bev & son-in-law Jerry in 1985 to found Avanti Industries, Inc., an Arizona based window company serving home builders throughout the Southwest. Along with son Kurt, they worked to grow the company, eventually selling to the Jeld-Wen Corporation in 1996. George was an avid trap shooter, excellent friend, and passionate family man; working hard to support all with his knowledge, generosity, & friendship. He was extremely supportive of all his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren; wanting them to have every opportunity possible.
He once again showed his support and belief in the abilities of the family in 2014, as a partner in Avanti Industries, LLC, a manufacturer and installer of vinyl window and door systems throughout the Southwest. Acquired by the Pella Corporation in 2018, his legacy continues to live on with Avanti though his family members and more than 800 employees and their families that benefit from its continued success.
George is survived by wife Kay, brother Joseph, sisters Ann, Barbara, and Pauline. His son Kurt (Karen) Reynolds and daughter Bev (Jerry) Petty, grandchildren Dustin (Ondrea) Petty, Kristen (Austen) Moore, Daniel (Marisela) Reynolds, & Julian (Terra) Petty, and his 11 great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held 9:30 AM October 21, 2021 at Thompson Funeral Chapel in Goodyear, Arizona.

Uncle George was a wonderful role model. Faithful and supportive to his family. Uncle George had great integrity, work ethic and love for his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. We hope to follow Uncle George’s example with our future grandchildren. Uncle George was always loving to me and my family whenever we visited from California. Most important, Uncle George was loving and supportive to our grandma Eunice who lived to all most 100. Living in California, our family knew grandma was well taken of in Arizona by both Uncle George and Aunt Kay for which we are forever grateful.
We love you Uncle George and you will be missed.

George was a fair man, and very smart. If he has something to say you would listen, his knowledge on life was worth listening to. He will be missed by me and many others. George rest in peace.

My condolences to Aunt Kay and the entire family. I first met Uncle George when I married his niece, Veronica, in 1986. I could tell that Uncle George was a kind, helpful, and wise man, holding the respect of his entire family. If we live long enough, we meet many people, many of whom we wish we could have known better and spent more time with. For me, one of those people was Uncle George. May he rest in peace.
