Obituary

Gail Lynn Wilson of Litchfield Park slipped her earthly bonds to join her Savior on September 20 after a brief but courageous fight against cancer. She was born August 15, 1949, to Howard Buehler and Dorothea Moore in Spokane, Washington, where she attended Ferris High School and Spokane Community College.

She moved to Boise, Idaho, and married Carter Wilson in 1976 where they resided for 40 years. She worked as a distribution and window clerk for the Postal Service, retiring after 26 years of service. Gail was a member of the American Postal Workers Union her entire career and served as a steward and editor of the Evergreen Postal Worker. Upon retirement, they moved to Litchfield Park, Arizona.

Gail was an active member of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Litchfield Park where she was a member of the Daughters of the King and assisted with various ministries, including Sunday services at La Loma Village retirement community.

Gail was a member of the Boy Scouts of America for more than 20 years. She received the James E. West Award, District Award of Merit, Silver Beaver Award, and the George Meany Award for Service to Youth. She was a Vigil member of the Order of the Arrow, Boy Scout’s honor society, where she was recipient of the Founder’s Award. Gail was an avid quilter and produced many award-winning quilts, most of which she gifted to friends and family. She was a member of the Boise Basin Quilters Guild, Quilter’s Anonymous, and the Arizona Quilters Guild. She was a gifted baker, and her children regularly requested care packages of her famous brownies and molasses cookies.

Gail was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Carter, children Sally Ann (Burr), Paul, and Melissa, all of Boise; granddaughters, Clarity and Cassandra; brothers Alan (Jess) Pahrump, NV, Russell of Mead, WA, sister Diane (Kevin) Moses Lake, WA., brother-in-law, Douglas of Litchfield Park, nieces and nephews.

Carter, I always enjoyed those times when Gail video bombed our EFM group, would ask you a question, or just was there. Your love for her and hers for you always came through. What a gift you shared with us.
