Frankie A McCray

Passed: January 31, 2016

Obituary

Frankie A. McCray, 71, of Phoenix, AZ passed away in his home unexpectedly in his sleep on January 31, 2016. He was born November 2, 1944 in Seagraves, TX to the late Scott and Veneta McCray who raised him with his surviving sisters Brenda Locke of Greenriver, WY and Sharion Patterson of Carlsbad, NM.

He served in the US Navy from 1961-1967 and worked as a Jet Mechanic and enjoyed being in the color guard. He later worked in the oil field for over 25 years and was in the transportation industry at Swift for 17yrs. He retired in 2004 and tried to continue his love of golf and bowling. He enjoyed every opportunity that he had to be with his grandchildren that he was so extremely proud of.

Recently Frankie had been diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease. Fortunately it hadn’t debilitated him to the point where he was in a wheelchair but it sure had slowed him down. None of us had any clue that his death was approaching so soon.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years of marriage Patricia Jean and her loving mom Alleen Sherrill. He is also survived by his son and daughter-n- law Scott A and Deborah McCray and their three boys, Austin, Collin, and Ryan, as well as his daughter and son-n-law Jeannie and Don Fox and their four children Victoria, Tabitha, Joshua and Jimmy along with his first great grandson Gabriel. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm, Friday, February 5, 2016 at Thompson Funeral Chapel, 926 S Litchfield Road, Goodyear, AZ. A reception will follow the service.

My love and prayers are with you and your family, Pat. I have many good memories of Frankie and of course, it includes you as the two of you were inseparable.

  2. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this more difficult time. We are sad and broken hearted at the passing of dear Frankie who was an incredible husband, father and friend to anyone who knew him. Wonderful memories of him will live on in our hearts.

  3. Our sincere sympathies to you and your family Pat. Dennis and I are so sorry to hear of Frankies passing and know that his leaving has left a hole in your heart and that of your family. Frankie was such a good man and was always so kind to Jason. I know that words can’t take the pain or loss away but hopefully knowing that so many people thought so highly of Frankie will help a bit. We will remember him with fondness and when we think of him will picture him laughing, eyes twinkling, and loving life.

  5. We are truly sorry to hear of the loss of your loved one. May the love of family and friends comfort you during these difficult days. No one can prepare you for a loss; it comes like a swift wind. May you find comfort in knowing God’s promise for our near future at Revelation 21:3,4 which says “he will wipe out every tear from their eyes and death will be no more” and Isaiah 25:8 which promises God will “swallow up death forever and the Soveriegn Lord Jehovah will wipe away the tears from all faces”. John 5:28,29 also gives us the hope of a future resurrection to see your loved one again very soon! I hope these scriptures give you a measure of peace and comfort.
