  1. Norm was my supervisor, at United Cable TV in Englewood, Colorado, I worked with him and staff in the tax department from 5/1980 till 1985. Found out it was a small world as Norm was from Lubbock, TX and my dad was too, and cousin of my dad’s was in Norm and Rita’s wedding. No one could of asked for a better teacher, I was a young kid from a small town in Missouri, going to make it big in the big city. Norm took me under his wing, made sure I learned the ropes. We have kept in touch over the years and was able to talk with him a couple of years ago. Norm was an amazing person, and will always have a spot in my heart. Rita, Lauren and Ryan, my heart goes out to you at this time. May god watch over you and Norm’s family. Lorrie (Dewey) Freeman

    Goodbye, old friend.

  3. Rita,
I was so sad to hear about Norm’s untimely passing. Please accept my condolences. I will always remember the good times we had at Carroll Thompson and LHS.
    Be well,
    George

  4. Norman Stephens was a fine young lad and he grew into exceptionally fine manhood. Norm loved his life, especially his wife Rita and their children. I can still picture Norm playing Hacky Sack with George Turner, Steve Magee, Mike Malley, Jim Collier and company on the Thompson Junior High lawn each day after lunch. I can also picture him sitting beside me at our table in Evelyn Jones Pope’s 8th grade science classroom, hands folded and eyes closed during our daily classroom devotional and silent prayer. I don’t know what Norm was praying about. I was silently praying that he would be my boyfriend. I am praying today that Norm is restored and resting in eternal peace after so many difficult years of physical hardship. Rita, thank you for the years of devotion and care you gave to our beloved friend. You will have ever so many stars in your crown. My thoughts and love are with you. Nancy Henry Phillips

  5. Norm was a classy gentleman and we will miss him. My heart goes out to Rita.
