Obituary

Evelyn Yeager of Phoenix, Arizona passed away March 22, 2024 at the age of 92. She was born July 1, 1931 in Mansfield, Ohio to the late Fred and Christine Zimmerman. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 52 years: Joe Yeager and her sister Betty. She is survived by her daughter Pamela McRee, son Joe (Celina) Yeager Jr., and her grandchildren: Kelly McRee, Kimberly McRee, and Michael Yeager.

Evelyn was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her family and taught all of her grandchildren how to swim. She had a positive and supportive nature and was friendly and welcoming to all she met. Evelyn was a great cook and was known for “Heavy Evey’s Heavy Hamburgers.” She also enjoyed bowling, watching the hummingbirds, sitting with her dogs, and listening to Polka music. Evelyn had at great laugh and sense of humor that will be dearly missed along with her wisdom and joy for family and life.

A visitation will be held from 5:30 to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, April 9 at Thompson Funeral Chapel in Goodyear, Arizona.
