Obituary

Esther Jane Fisher, 87, of Goodyear, Arizona passed away on June 24, 2021 with her entire family by her side. She was born on November 12, 1933 in Omak, Washington to James Asbury Biles and Elva Lucile Lortz. Esther married the love of her life, Darrell Dean Fisher in April 1956. Together they built their home in Kennewick, WA and had four children. Darrell preceded Esther in death in 1968. Esther courageously raised her four children on her own, remaining faithful to Darrell until death. Esther’s nurturing spirit provided a safe haven for other children, including nieces, nephews, grandchildren and friends.

Over the years, Esther did whatever was necessary to provide for her children and extended family, including: cleaning services, working as a cook and finally as a tape librarian for Boeing Computer Services, where she retired in 1996. In 1998 she moved to Las Vegas, NV where she enjoyed the company of many friends. Starting in 2006 she spent time living in each of her children’s homes in Oklahoma, Maryland, Washington, and Arizona and eventually made her final home in Goodyear, AZ with her daughter Soni Fisher. Esther was of a non-denominational faith and spent her entire life faithfully following the teachings of Jesus Christ.

Esther is survived by her four children, Kathleen Blair and her husband Allan, Steve Fisher and his wife Mary, Soni Fisher, and Trish Wildfang and her husband Kevin; her brother Jim Biles and his wife Marian; her grandchildren Kevin, Cheri, Christina, Rodney, Stephen, Jenni, Tricia, Larissa, Devin and spouses; and her great-grandchildren Anthony, Alejandro, Amiya, Blaine, Destiny, Chloee, Ayden, Liam, Haileigh, Cameron, Ezzy, Jaxson, and one more on the way; and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Darrell Dean Fisher, her grandson Travis Benjamin Wildfang, her parents James and Lucile Biles, and her siblings Lael Biles, Ray Biles and Eldora Hahn.

  2. To the family of Esther Fisher.

Our sympathy to you all in the passing of Esther from life into eternal like.

Fond memories of the many times she and her children would visit Ray and family in Ellensburg. Wonderful visits and so thankful that we were included. That family felt like our family.

Thinking of all of you at this time.

My dear sister Esther. We were siblings yes but so much more, we were buddies. You were always there when I needed you in good and bad
times. You inspired me all through my life. You’re leaving a big hole in my life. You lived a life following Jesus and your faithfulness gave courage to many a person looking on. I’m so sorry I wasn’t able to be by your side at the end of your life, but seeing the life you lived is the most important memory. The situation at home hindered me from being there with you.

  4. Some long ago memories of seeing Esther and her sister and mother at Chelan convention. They were always happy, laughing, and smiling. I looked up to them(being older). Those are my memories. It is wonderful when there is peace in lives that love being in a wonderful family of God. So thankful for faithful lives. We all want to strive to continue and finish this race we have begun. Thankful for lives like hers.
