Obituary

Ernest Passaro of Litchfield Park, AZ and Rochester, NY passed away March 10, 2017. He was predeceased by his wife, Elaine (Burgo) Passaro. He is survived by children, Sharon (Mark Molinari) Passaro, Mary Ellen Passaro, Ernest (Lori) Passaro, Elisa Passaro; brother, Donald Passaro; 7 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchild; nieces and nephews.

The Passaro-Burgo family cherishes the many memories of Ernie with joyful and thankful hearts. We can best describe him as incredibly loving, gentle, kind, and supportive, always willing to help anyone who was in need. Hardworking and creative, he could often be found in the cellar working at his tool bench creating or repairing a plethora of things or spending time at his cottage in the 1000 Islands boating and fishing on the St Lawrence River. Ernie had many hobbies such as exercising in fitness classes at the Wigwam resort, hunting, and taking long walks in the woods. He loved animals and raised many dogs in his lifetime leaving behind ‘his Molly’ who was faithful to the end. He was known best for ‘helping others and showing up’ at any hour of the day.

His family will receive loved ones from 4:00 – 7:00 pm, Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at the Paul W. Harris Funeral Home, 570 Kings Highway South, Rochester, NY 14617. Please join his family Wednesday, 11 AM at the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery Chapel, 2461 Lake Ave, Rochester, NY 14612 for a service and entombment.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association(alz.org) or Sun Valley Animal Shelter(sunvalleypets.org/how-to-donate/) in his memory.

I met your Father at Pebblecreeks,”Sit & be Fit” class. He was always very helpful in whatever needed to be done, like setting up chairs, etc. Ernie was a man who loved his family, and always shared when you got together or took a trip. I always enjoyed listening to him share his love for his family. He will be missed by many. He was a great guy!

    1. Thank you for your kind words Carol. He loved that class and everyone who attended! Sharon
