Obituary
Elaine J. Vinci, age 84 of Goodyear, AZ died June 20, 2017 in Surprise, AZ. She was born June 14, 1933, (along with her twin sister Marilyn), in Newark, NJ to Anthony Lawrence Pace and Minnie Kaplan Pace. She had a wonderful marriage of nearly 60 years to her husband Vincent Vinci and together they raised four children.
Elaine worked in various business, accounting, and office management positions in the insurance industry, as well as in bookkeeping at AAA, retiring as an internal auditor in the reinsurance business. Elaine was very driven and energetic, and strove for perfection in all she undertook, whether at home or work. She was an outstanding cook, and also had an excellent design aesthetic. Her home was always beautifully decorated and meticulously maintained, she was always smartly and fashionably dressed and she loved shopping -never more than when it involved a good bargain! Mom was also an avid reader, especially of history and cultures. She shared this passion with her children and we went to the library nearly as often as to church. Elaine enjoyed playing golf with Vince and friends. In later years, she loved going to the casino, playing cards and bingo, and going on cruises. Together, she and Vincent traveled worldwide.
Elaine is survived by son Mark (Cathy) Vinci; daughters, Susan Vinci (Charles) Lucero and Patty Vinci; son, Vincent (Angela) Vinci; and three beloved grandchildren, Allison E. Moore, Vincent R. Vinci, and Elaine V. Vinci. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vincent Vinci. A gathering will be held at 5:30 pm, Friday, June 23, 2017 at Thompson Funeral Chapel, 926 S. Litchfield Road, Goodyear, AZ. A memorial mass will be celebrated at 12:30 pm, Saturday, June 24, 2017 in the chapel at Anderson Hall at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 4715 N. Central Ave., Phoenix, AZ 85012.

Still in shock and so heartbroken that our sweet lil Ms. Elaine is gone. Hard to wrap my head around it. Sad she’s gone, but happy she’s finally out of pain and discomfort and at PEACE.
We love and miss you so much Elaine … until we met again. XOXO

Susan, I am so sorry to hear about your mom’s passing. I will remember her as the woman who loved order and strived for perfection in your kitchen. A snail-mail card follows.

Even though I only knew Elaine for a short time, I truly enjoyed visiting with her, she had a wonderful sense of humor and a positive attitude. She introduced me to bingo and I’ll recall the fun we had when I play in the future. Returning to Pebble Creek in October will not be the same. I’ll miss her friendly hello and smile.
