Obituary

Eileen Theresa Conklin, 76, of Goodyear, AZ, passed away on May 6th 2017 after a long illness.

Eileen was born in The Bronx, NY in 1940. She went to school at Brewster High. She then married her true love John Conklin on August 10th 1959 in Elkton, MD. She worked as a dental office manager in NY and CT until she retired and moved to Goodyear, AZ. She then enjoyed working as a hostess for the Cracker Barrel restaurant in Goodyear, where she really loved meeting and chatting it up with the local patrons.

Eileen is preceded in death by her parents, John Dunn and Josephine (McAuley) Dunn, her brother Richard Dunn, grandson Gregory Conklin and nephew Adam Dunn.

Eileen is survived by her husband John Conklin, her four sons, Jeff (Donna) Conklin, Colin (Sarah) Conklin, Chris Conklin, Justin (Kate) Conklin and her brother Robert (Lee) Dunn. She is also survived by her five grandchildren, Rebecca, Hunter, Luke, Taylor, Emma Conklin, seven nieces, 5 nephews and her beloved dog Ozzy.

Eileen had a number of passions in life; she was an avid gardener, interior decorator extraordinaire, and enjoyed paddle tennis, playing cards and bowling. Eileen enjoyed travel including their trips to the Scandinavian countries, St Petersburg Russia, Ireland, cruises on the Danube and The Rhine rivers, Hawaii, Caribbean and several cross country road trips visiting National Parks and seeing family along the way. She also had a sharp wit, a great sense of humor and loved a good practical joke (especially on her husband John).

She will be greatly missed by all but her delightful stories and memories will live on.

At Eileen’s request, no funeral services will be held. Donations may be made to St Jude.org.

Eileen’s family sends a heartfelt thank you to Hospice of the Valley in Surprise, AZ for their caring guidance.

My sincere condolences to the family and friends, so sorry for your loss. Please find comfort in knowing that Jehovah God will soon resurrect our dear loved ones (John 5:28-29). Oh how we long for that time when pain, suffering and death will be no more, these former things will have passed away (Revelation 21:3-5).
