Obituary

Bruce Luber, 67, of Buckeye, Arizona died June 10, 2022 in Buckeye, Arizona. He was born February 6, 1955 to Harold and LaVerne Luber Luber in Great Falls, MT.

Bruce is survived by his wife of 40 years, Laurie Luber, son Adam Luber, daughter Caitlin (Luber) Ornelas, sister Stacia Julian, and his mother LaVerne Luber. He is also survived by four grandchildren: Ava, Lilly, Finley, and Ainsley.

Bruce touched all of us in his own unique way. He had an infectious smile & there are many ways to describe him…

Funny, energetic, passionate, driven, perfectionist, generous, athletic, loyal and most of all kind-hearted.

Bruce was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, brother & friend to all. Bruce loved life which was demonstrated through all of the activities he was involved in. He enjoyed playing volleyball and basketball as a kid, doing karate with his family, golfing, camping with family and friends, traveling to tropical places, hiking, riding bikes, playing Pickleball and chocolate.

Bruce enjoyed playing with his grandkids and watching them grow. He loved to BBQ and share with whomever was around.

We were all blessed to have known Bruce. He will be missed but never forgotten.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

  1. We share in sadness, with his beautiful family and host of friends. I will always remember Bruce as my “Partner in Crime.” Hours of play as young children while our parents visited each other’s homes, and later trips to Disneyland together trying to grab souvenirs off the wall on Peter Pan’s ride and spending hours trying out all the merchandise in Merlin’s Magic Shop. I never let him forget the woman on the vacation boat ride in the beautiful Gates of the Mountains in MT, passionately repeating the phrase “….How Heavenly!!” at every turn, which gave us quite a laugh as we openly mocked her chanting her phrase. (Kids are cruel.) Also the total mess we made of our table at the International House of Pies, creating a “Treasure Map” for the waitress to follow “hiding” her tip in an empty sugar packet marked with an X. I imagine Laurie and many others have crazy, fun loving memories to share knowing Bruce as an adult. My heart breaks for you all, particularly for my “Other Mother”, our dear friend La Verne. Today we see through the glass dimly, but someday we will understand the perfect, providential will of our sovereign God. May He give you Peace.

  2. Classmate of my brother back in st Jacob. And fellow members at church. Stacia was a bit younger than me. So sorry to hear of his passing. Please give Lavern and stacia our sympathy.

  3. Jim parke says:

Did this Bruce Luber attend neff high school in La Mirada, California? If so, he was a great guy, lots of fun, and a great basketball player. Sorry I lost touch with him

  4. What is it that makes us try and find someone from our past that we have not thought of in years? It is just such a thought that had me find that Bruce had passed. What a kind soul. I will always remember cheering at the football games, stomping on the bleachers, and laughing after singing our fight song. You made high school fun. Sounds like you had a great life. My heart goes out to your family. May God comfort them.
