Obituary

Brian Ignatius Canavan, 83, of Litchfield Park, AZ died on March 11, 2017 in Phoenix, AZ.  He was born July 26, 1933 in Galway, Ireland to Patrick Canavan and Tess McDermott.

Brian was a member of Engineers Ireland and the Institution of Civil Engineers for over 50 years. 

He is survived by his sons Colin Canavan and daughter-in-law Laura McClure-Canavan; sisters Angela Cormican, Una Carey, Philomena Curren, Ethra Shryan; brother, Peadar Canavan; and 1 grandchild, Tyler McClure. He was preceded in death by his wife Ann Canavan, his parents, sister Clare Byrne, and brother Dermot Canavan.

Mass will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 13720 W. Thomas Rd in Avondale, AZ.  Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Avondale, AZ.

  2. To the family of Brian Canavan. You all are in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. I always looked forward to see Brian every Saturday night at mass. He was a as wonderful gentleman and he will be missed a great deal.

We will always remember Brian fondly and have wonderful memories of the many times spent with you and your parents throughout the years. It is never easy to lose a parent, no matter your age.
