Obituary

Mr. Adam Balogh, 75, of Peoria, Arizona died January 1, 2023. He was born November 11, 1947, in Norwalk, Connecticut to Louis and Mary Balogh. He is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Olga Balogh, son, Adam Michael Balogh (Dan), and daughter, Tasha Lerma (Ruben), his two grandchildren, Xavier Lerma and Jericho (Jerry) Balogh-Heuerman. He is also survived by his brother, Louis J Balogh (Carol), niece Cynthia, and nephew Brian. As well as his brother in law, Stanley L Williams Jr. Adam was preceded in death by his parents: Louis Balogh and Mary Hornyak.

Adam faithfully served 23 years in the United States Air Force before retiring as a Master Sergeant in 1993. After retiring, he worked at the Luke AFB – Army Air Force Exchange Store (AAFES-BX). Adam then moved to the Lowe’s store in Surprise, Arizona where he worked for many additional years.

Adam enjoyed time with his family, including his furry pal Zena, playing football, basketball, and handball. When he wasn’t playing sports, Adam was rooting for his favorite football team, N.Y. Giants. Many days, Adam could be found at the Luke AFB gym working out, riding his bicycle around the neighborhood, and tending to his yard.

A visitation will be held from 9 to 10 am, January 18 at Thompson Funeral Chapel in Goodyear, Arizona. A memorial service will begin at 10 am. Interment will follow at 12:30 pm at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in Phoenix, AZ.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests any memorial contributions be sent to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
