Obituary

Klayson Auna Barlow, age 31 of Surprise, Arizona died February 18, 2020, in Phoenix, Arizona. He was born February 17, 1989, in Savannah, Georgia, the youngest of three sons born to Gregory and Vyan (Auna) Barlow. As a young boy, he lived in Arlington, Texas where he earned a black belt in Tae Kwon Do at the age of eight.   His family moved to Peoria, Arizona in 1997 and he attended schools there through his junior year at Sunrise Mountain High School. He enjoyed scouting and was proud to have earned his Eagle Scout Rank.   As an athlete, he enjoyed a variety of sports. He enjoyed playing tennis and volleyball in high school. As an accomplished volleyball player, he moved to the east side of the valley to play on a more competitive team and graduated from Highland High School. He attended Glendale Community College for a year, then went on to work in a variety of jobs.

Klayson loved to laugh and have fun. He enjoyed camping, riding dirt bikes, and paintballing with his dad and brothers. He loved to fly and was a licensed pilot in both airplanes and helicopters. He was very patriotic and proud of the military and law enforcement service of his grandfathers, father, brothers, and extended family.

Klayson was a father and an uncle. He became a father in 2014. His time with Michael was short as Klayson relocated to Arizona. He spoke often of his love for his son and his desire to be a role model in his life. As an uncle, Klayson cherished his relationships with his five beautiful nieces, Juna, Kali, Abigail, Nami, and Reese.

Klayson had a BIG heart. He enjoyed serving others and freely shared his light with those around him. As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, he found strength in the hymns and reading the Book of Mormon. He gave away many Books of Mormon to those he met while he was in rehab. He had a testimony of Jesus Christ that he shared to help lift others who struggled as he did. He is loved deeply by his family who feels blessed to have had him in their lives.

Klayson is survived by his son, Michael Gregory Barlow Pazzi; parents, Gregory H. and Vyan K. Barlow; brothers, G. Mitchell and Logan H. Barlow; and grandparents; Hyrum W. Barlow, and Harvey L. and Eva P. Auna. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Patsy R. Hancock. A visitation will be held at 8:30 AM for family, 9:00-9:40 AM all are welcome, followed by a funeral service at 10:00 AM, Saturday, March 14, 2020, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 15880 W. I can’t believe it’s been two year already. I love you so much cousin. What’s so comforting is knowing that grandpa and my dad are there with you. Families are forever!
