Obituary

Alejandro “Alex” Mendoza, 71, of Poteet, TX and formerly of Cashion and Tolleson died November 15, 2011 in Poteet, TX.  He was born July 10, 1940 in Mission, TX to Jose Enrique and Apolinar Mendoza.  Mr. Mendoza moved to Arizona when he was a teenager.  Mr. Mendoza was a farm laborer/contractor and was self employed in the Agriculture business.

Alex enjoyed spending time with his family, watching novellas and listening to his tejano music.  Alex was a big Sun Devils and Raiders fan.  He and his wife Maria celebrated their 50^th anniversary on May 13^th of this year.

He is survived by his wife, Maria Mendoza; sons, David, Alex Jr., Pete Mendoza; daughters, Dolores M. Villanueva, Della, Precious Bea Mendoza; brother, Carlos Mendoza; sisters, Juanita Vela and Esperanza Mendoza.

Also surviving is 21 Grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be at Thompson’s Valley West Funeral Chapel, 926 S. Litchfield Rd., Goodyear, AZ from 6:00-8:00pm Monday, November 21, 2011.  The rosary will be prayed at 7:00pm.  Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at St. John Vianney at 10:00am.  Burial will follow at Louis B. Hazelton Cemetery in Buckeye.
