Obituary

Severo Peña Ortega, aged 88, died August 2, 2022. He was born November 6, 1933 in Ojinaga, Chihuahua, Mexico to Jesus Ortega and Celestina Peña.

Severo met the love of his life, Rebecca Granado.  They were married in Presidio Texas in March of 1961. They later moved from Presidio to Arizona.  They purchased a house in Cashion, AZ where they raised their family.  Severo was a loving husband and devoted father.  He and Rebecca had three children Jesse, Sylvia and Lorraine.  He was Tata to seven grandchildren (Ruben II, Jesse Jr., Vanessa, Rachel, Kyle, Brianna & Rebecca) and two great-grandchildren Zaiden & AlexZander.  Severo provided well for his family and instilled a strong work ethic in his children.  He will forever be missed but we take comfort that he has been reunited with his true love, our mother Rebecca.

A visitation will be held from 8:30 to 11 am, Saturday August 13th at Thompson Funeral Chapel. The memorial service will begin at 9:30 am followed by the burial at Holy Cross Cemetery.
