Obituary

Gary Alexander McEachern, 64, of Goodyear, Arizona, died on November 29, 2012. His final days were spent surrounded by family and friends that Gary had touched in some way throughout his very memorable life.

Gary was born June 2, 1948 in Portland, Oregon to Donald and Mary Lou McEachern.

Gary attended R.A. Long High School in Longview, Washington, graduating in 1966. He continued his education at the Washington State University in Pullman, earning his Bachelor of Arts in Business in 1971, then proceeded to earn his Masters Degree of Business Administration from the University of Portland in 1973.

While studying in Pullman, Gary met and married Janet on June 27, 1970.

Gary and Jan owned and operated Mallory Industrial and Tool for multiple decades while raising a family in Richland, Washington. Upon retirement, Gary and Jan relocated to Goodyear, Arizona, where he returned to work as a Commercial Real Estate Agent and a seasoned networker.

Gary enjoyed swimming, golf and observing sports. He was a member of Phi Kappa Tau, Shriners, Rotary International and many other organizations. Gary was very dedicated to Rotary, and enjoyed his role as Past District Governor. He has sponsored more than 300 members into Rotary and is known as “The Master Asker.”

Gary is survived by his wife of 42 years, Janet; Sons and their spouses, Christopher McEachern, Cory and Diane McEachern, and Alex and Susan McEachern; Grandchildren, Zane, Abi, Jessi, Maci, Jacob, Bastian, and Alexander; Mother, Mary Lou McEachern; Brother, Neal McEachern, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Gary believed, “A stranger is just a friend you haven’t met,” and made everyone he met feel like his best friend.

Services will be held on December 16, 2012 at 2pm at Summit Community Church 20050 W. Indian School Road, Buckeye, AZ by Pastor Nate Schaus.  Condolences can be sent to www.thompsonfuneralchapel.com.  Arrangements are under the direction of Thompson Funeral Chapel in Goodyear, Ariz.
