Obituary

Katherine Michele Lopez, 49, of Avondale, Arizona died July 8, 2021 in Avondale, Arizona.  She was born September 21, 1971 to Robert Rivera and Michele Terzich in Phoenix, Arizona.

Katherine played softball through high school and at Scottsdale Community College before going on to graduate from Arizona State University (Go Devils!), she loved theater in school and became a special education teacher.  Katherine was a proud mother and always said her four children were her greatest and most proud accomplishment and she loved her grand pups (Bella, Thor, Roro and Grim).

She is survived by her son, Trevor Jordan, daughters, Ashley Heying, Callie Lopez, and Emma Lopez, sisters, Sara Rivera and Linda Rivera, brother, Bobby Rivera, mother, Michele Terzich and grandchildren, Brooklynne, Gavin, Piper, Hailey, and Talon.  Katherine was preceded in death by her father, Robert Rivera.

A visitation will be held at 6 pm and the rosary will start at 7:30 pm on Thursday, July 15, 2021 at Thompson Funeral Chapel, 926 S. Litchfield Rd. Goodyear, Arizona 85338.  A mass will be held at 10 am on Friday, July 16, 2021 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 13720 W. Thomas, Rd. Avondale, Arizona 85392.  The burial will be held at 10 am on July 19, 2021 at Holy Cross Cemetery, 9925 W. Thomas Rd. Avondale, Arizona 85392.
