Obituary

Joshua Michael Goggans, age 40 of Avondale, AZ died November 30, 2018. He was born April 29, 1978 in Denver, CO.

A man with humor as his guide and a love for his son beyond all others, Josh was well loved by those lucky enough to know him. Born in Denver, Colorado, Josh spent most of his life in Washington State, and the last 7 months in Arizona.

At an early age, Josh made friends with the people who remain in his life today. Nicknamed ‘Lumpy’, Josh and his buddies grew from boys to men together. He enjoyed exploring the beauty of the northwest through camping and hiking. Some of his best memories were camping in Cle Elum with the guys. He loved swimming, especially with his son Ryan. If you couldn’t find him during the summer… just look for him at the lake.

A huge football fan, his #1 team was the Denver Broncos followed closely by the Seattle Seahawks. His tailgate party antics are popular stories among his friends, and he made a fierce jalapeno popper!! Josh will always be remembered by his friends for the happy times they had hanging out and joking around. He was always the life of the party….Yahtzee!!!

He and Ryan were not just father and son, but also best friends. They played video games, watched movies, cooked meals, rapped their favorite songs, and enjoyed just being together. He was a good Dad and so very proud of the man he could see in the boy. Ryan has memories to last a lifetime.

Our hearts are broken that Josh is gone. Our memories keep us smiling as we think of the dad, son, brother, friend, and coworker who always had a quick joke and a grin never to be forgotten. Rest in peace, Josh, we love you.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, December 15, 2018 at Thompson Funeral Chapel, 926 S. Litchfield Road, Goodyear, AZ 85338.
