Obituary

On Monday, August 22, 2022, Javier Serrano Gonzales, loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away at the age of 78 in Goodyear, Arizona.

Javier was born on October 6, 1943 in Jerez, Zacatecas Mexico. He was preceded in death by his parents Salvador Serrano and Maria Gonzales and his son, Xavier S. Serrano. Javier is survived by his children, Alicia Granados, Abraham Serrano, and Alexander Serrano.

Javier was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a jack-of-all-trades, but his real passion was making boots and blown glass figures. Javier loved listening to Spanish music in his boot shop every day. He was known for his big smile and his nickname was “El Rico” since giving a helping hand was never an issue for him. Javier lived life to the fullest.

A visitation will be held from 6 to 9pm on Thursday, September 1 and from 1 to 4pm Friday, September 2 at Thompson Funeral Chapel. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:30 to 4pm on Friday, September 2 at Thompson Funeral Chapel.
