   Gloria, my dear second cousin, I tried so many times to see you at your home in Avondale in the last few years since my move to Avondale, I even got to talk to Pebbles and one of your great-granddaughters. I remember all of our family visits to see you and Ruben while you lived in California when I was a child. I remember the conversations my mom and dad had with you and Ruben about yesteryear, your terrific dinners, beverage bar, and beautiful homes. I look back at my mom’s long visits with your mom Carmen (my mom’s godmother and my grandpa’s sister) and admiring her birds. I listened to them discuss the Canez family memories of yesteryear for hours on end. I remember our visits to see your sister Trini. I have a video of you and the family celebrating Easter at Griffith Park in California many years ago and a video of Trini and Wedo at our home in California. I can hear your laughter in my mind! I am so grateful to God for having you in my life, although in bits and pieces. Thanks for attending my mom and dad’s 50th wedding anniversary and their funerals. I will pray for you and Ruben so that God may grant you eternal life (together) in Heaven. Forever in my heart, cousin Pepe (son of Pancha Canez).
