Obituary

Florine Adele Law of Goodyear, Arizona passed away February 28, 2023 at the age of 94. She was born January 31, 1929 in Millstadt, Illinois to Erwin and Frieda (nee Scharf) Mueller. She was preceded in death by her husband, Martin F. Law. Florine is survived by her children Diana (Don) Oswald, Michael Law, Kenneth Law, and Patti (Francisco) Gutierrez, and brother Ralph (Helen) Mueller. She is also survived by her three grandchildren: David Oswald, Jason Oswald, and Kerri Law.

Florine was known as reserved and stoic, but she also had a great laugh and sense of humor. She was always very organized and was an amazing housekeeper. Her spaghetti dish was a favorite for many in her family. Florine loved to spend time in her garden, watch the Lawrence Welk Show, and was also an avid state lottery player in Arizona and previously in California.

Family was Florine’s everything. She and Martin were a loving couple whose proudest achievements were their children and grandchildren.

A visitation will be held from 4 to 8pm on Thursday, March 23 at Thompson Funeral Chapel. A memorial service will begin at 6pm. Interment will take place at 10AM Friday, March 24 at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery.

The family would like to give special thanks to Wings of Hope Hospice Care; especially Carol, Stephanie, Lori, and Alicia for their loving care of our mother.

Diana, Michael, Kenny, Patti and family: our prayers go out to all of you! your Mom lived a long wonderful life. Sure wish Gary and I could be there for her celebration of life.

I would like to share one story that stands out to me: Diana – do you remember after we became friends and went to your house and I met your Mom and Dad and I called you Diane that your Mom sternly but lovingly said “her name is Diana”. I apologized and your Mom smiled and said it was nice to meet me. I never mispronounced or misspelled your name after that. That was in 1972! Time flies! Love to you all

I’m sorry I couldn’t be there today with your family whom I have always felt is an extension of mine. I loved the 6 short years living across the street from Marty & Flo as they became a 2nd set of grandparents to my kids. My heart goes out to all of you today. I miss you, Flo!
