Obituary

Carol Ann Manning, age 67 of Tolleson, AZ passed away on March 16, 2019 in Glendale, AZ. She was born July 26, 1951 in Cincinnati, OH, one of three children born to Leonard and Margaret James Wurth.   Carol grew up on a small farm in Butler County, OH. She had a difficult childhood and was responsible for her brother and sister at a young age. Even so, she loved her father very much.

Carol was a beautiful soul, full of strength, laughter and a love of bright, fun jewelry. She had a heart of gold and would give to anyone in need. She loved Bible Study, traveling with her husband, Tom, and an occasional visit to the casino. She took good care of Tom and he saw her as a saint for it.

Her son James was the joy of her life. For the first sixteen years of his life it was just the two of them. She worked unbelievable hours to provide for him, but she always found time to have fun with him on weekends. A loving mother, she had the strength and courage to make hard choices that would provide James with the greatest growth. She fought for him and her constancy became the rock he would rely on. She brought James into this world, holding his hand and she left this world with James holding her hand.

Carol is survived by her husband, Thomas W. Manning; son, James Manning; stepson, Thomas E. Manning; stepdaughter, Rosemary Briton Manning; sister, Nancy Curry; brother, Mike Wurth; and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Margaret Wurth.

A visitation will be at 4:00 pm, followed by a funeral service at 4:45 pm, Saturday March 23, 2019 at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, 918 S Litchfield Rd, Goodyear, AZ 85338.
