Obituary

Vernquiz, aka Verny as he later renames himself was born January 14, 2006 to Latanya Kendrick & Vernon McCollum in Bakersfield, CA. He was the youngest of all his siblings. He spent in first 14 years in Bakersfield, in 2019, he relocated to Goodyear, AZ. Verny confidents, good looks and charismatic demeanor made him popular among his peers and anyone whom interacted with him. He was energetic, smart, and curious. He was always asking questions, and was always willing to relaying knowledge he gained whether at school, TV or someone else. He could carry on a conversation with anyone. At first meet, Verny would come across shy; but would quickly change once he got comfortable. He started out with an interested in football, but later found more of a passion for basketball; His dream was to become an NBA star with his plan B as sport medicine. If he wasn’t playing video game or talking on the phone you would find him at the nearby park playing ball. He was self-motivated; he started his first job this summer working at a nearby sandwich shop to earn extra money to buy his own school clothes. His next goal was to obtain a car. Verny will be greatly missed by everyone he knew.

He is survived by his parents Latanya Kendrick and Vernon McCollum, his brother/ mentor Damian Hall, alongside many older brother and sister, ample nieces and nephew, best friend/nephew Davion and his Guardian Aunty Linda.
