Obituary

Today we celebrate the life of Clara Carvalho

Stephens a loving, mother at age 77.

Although the Heavens  called for her on March 30, 2021 we celebrate that her journey is just the beginning.

Clara was born as Clara Carvalho on March 30, 1944 in Brooklyn, NY to Clyde Hall Carvalho and Romeo Carvalho.  Clara’s nickname was Chuma or Auntie Chuma.

She lived most of her life in NY before retiring  as a New York City bus driver and moving to AZ in 2004.  Her greatest joys were having her sons and grandchildren.

Clara is known for her quick wit, strength and caring personality.

Clara enjoyed spending time with her Grandchildren. Clara is a two time Cancer survivor. Her final battle with cancer ended and she can finally rest now.

Clara aka Chuma is loved by family and friends. In her final moments she was surrounded by those dear to her heart.

She will be greatly missed.

Clara is survived by her two children, seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren, nine nieces, one nephew, seven brothers, seven sisters and preceded in death by one sister.

    I met you just a short 3 1/2 years ago. You brought so much laughter, joy, and comfort to every time we talked and the times we were able to meet. My granddaughter just asked about you a few days ago. Rest in God’s Grace and peace. You are loved and will be missed.
