Obituary

Vivian Robin Kiernan passed away peacefully at home on March 21, 2021. Born in East Syracuse, New York to Paul and Patricia Devoy, May 11th, 1957. The oldest of six children, Paul Jr (deceased), David (Jen) Devoy, Raymond Devoy, Patricia (Steve) Barnett, James (Carla) Devoy, Vivian grew up and graduated from East Syracuse- Minoa High School where she was very active in the band.  She attended the University of New York at Potsdam.  In 1980 she relocated to Phoenix, AZ, with her family.

Vivian was a loving mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend.  Family was at the heart of everything Vivian held dear.   Her home was always open. Anyone was welcome at Aunt Robin’s house and it was the center for family gatherings. Vivian worked many years as a para professional at Sahuaro Elementary school. All the children knew Ms. Robin and loved her. She was extremely involved in her children’s extra-curricular activities, she could be found on the soccer fields or leading a Girl Scout Troop.  Once her children were grown, she left the school and began working at APS from which she retired.  Devoted grandmother to Tristan, Kenneth, Alexander, Elizabeth, Alexia, Ian, Luke, Robert, Gabriel, Logan, Theo, and Timothy.
Vivian was predeceased by her parents, Paul and Patricia; brother, Paul Jr; and son, Timothy.

Surviving are her children Karen (Adam) Leonhart, Michael Lilly, Alan (Tracie) Kiernan, Robert (Rachel) Kiernan, Katie (Harlen) Kiernan, Tricia (Tim) Kiernan, Vivian Kiernan, and many nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday, March 30th, 1:00pm at Louis B. Hazelton Memorial Park Cemetery, 23100 W Broadway Rd, Buckeye, AZ 85326.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to: Hazelton Memorial Park, a volunteer firefighter program which maintains the grounds.
