Obituary

Eugene (Gene) Cleveland Cole, 93, of Phoenix, Arizona, died January 23, 2021 at Banner Estrella Medical Center, Phoenix.  He was born February 7, 1927 to George and Judith (Bailey) Cole in Maywood, Nebraska.

Gene married the Love of His Life, Ardis Claudine Castor on June 23, 1947 in Atwood, Kansas.  The marriage begat 3 children, Steve, Paul and Terry.

Gene and Claudine lived in Stockville and Curtis, Nebraska until moving to the Wichita, Kansas area in 1950.  Gene started working for Interstate Electronics so they moved to Hutchinson, Ks.  In 1954, they moved back to the Wichita area and then in 1956 to Haysville where they lived until retirement in 1993. They built a home in the Colorado mountains and moved there the summer of 1993.  In 1998, they decided to move back home to Curtis.

Gene opened Wichita Communications in 1969 and worked until retirement.  Gene was a Haysville Police Officer and the first Director of Haysville Civil Defense and held Lt. Col. position with the Sedgwick County Sheriffs Dept.

Claudine passed away the summer of 2004.  In 2007 Gene married Marcelline Zwickl (deceased 2014).  Gene then moved to Phoenix with son Steve and wife Kathy.

He loved to play golf and visit with family and friends.

Survivors: Sons, Steven (Kathy) Cole of Phoenix Arizona; Paul (Shirley) Cole of Norman, OK.  5 Grandchildren and 7 Great-Grandchildren

Preceded in death by his Father, Mother, 1 son Terry, 2 Brothers and 3 sisters.
