Obituary

Fred Smith, 82, of Goodyear, AZ passed away on April 1, 2016 in Phoenix. He was born January 15, 1934 in Helena, AR to Albert and Freddie Hancock and moved to Arizona 30 years ago.  He honorably served on active duty in the United States Army from 1956 – 1958 as a Medical Specialist.  He was Board Certified as a pharmacist in California for over 50 years.

He is survived by daughters Glynis (Bill) Mouzakis and Heather (Dusty) Parks; sons Theron (Teresa) Smith, Darren (Wanda) Smith, Justin (Jen) Smith and Adrian Smith. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Iris Mae Smith.

A visitation will be at 6:00 pm with a rosary at 7:00 pm, Monday, April 11, 2016 at Thompson Funeral Chapel, 926 S Litchfield Road, Goodyear, AZ. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 539 LaPasada Blvd, Goodyear, AZ.  Burial will follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, 1562 E Baseline Rd, Mesa, AZ 85204.  The family suggests that donations be made to Myasthenia Gravis Foundation of America or Parkinson Disease Foundation.
